DWP has recently published a one page guidance paper designed to help explain Universal Credit to both landlords and letting agents, to help avoid potential tenants from being turned down because of their receipt of the benefit. The paper also includes support available for the landlords in regard to having a tenant who claims Universal Credit, such as the ability to apply to have rent paid directly to the landlord from DWP.
