The House of Commons Library has published a research briefing that details housing options for both active and ex-military personnel, although the document excludes details regarding service accommodation that is provided by the Ministry of Defence. The document also outlines that advice regarding housing before being discharged is provided by the Joint Service Housing Advice Office.
It’s all part of a government effort called the “Armed Forces Covenant”, which is a set of moral obligations that the government has toward the Armed Forces as thanks for their service. This covenant also extends to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
