After almost five years, the case regarding whether or not the Drivers operating under Uber were legally “Workers” or “Customers” has been resolved by way of a Supreme Court ruling. The ruling states that the Drivers are specifically “Workers”, which has a legal difference from being “Employees”. This difference is primarily in employment rights, in which Workers are granted limited spread of the available rights in comparision to Employees who are afforded all of them.
