With the rapid increase in Universal Credit claimants, the NHF launched a survey of housing associations to look into the effect that Covid-19 has caused for renters, especially those on Universal Credit. Some of their findings include that the number of tenants claiming UC increased by 83%, and the average UC renter could be up to six weeks behind on rent.
