The English Government has set aside £125 million for councils following the receipt of Royal Assent for the Domestic Abuse Bill, which places a legal duty on councils to provide support to victims. This support also gives priority need to homeless victims of domestic abuse, to help alleviate their fears about lacking a home should they be able to leave their abuser. The Bill also enforces support in pursuing therapy and advocacy.
